Rules and Regulations

  • All students need to take and pass the end of course test AFTER spending a minimum of 40 clock hours on the course material.  Many successful students spend 60-70+ hours total.  They read, learn, review…remember your goal: learn it to pass the test*
  • Although students have 6 months to complete the on line course and take the school's end of course test, we do recommend however, that you complete the course in 30 days or less for best results.
  • You must invest a minimum of 40 clock hours prior to being eligible to take the end of course test.  The minimum of forty reflects the traditional 48 hour course minus breaks.
  • All students must follow all Missouri Real Estate Commission rules and regulations.
  • All students must follow all AMP rules and regulations.
  • This is a self-directed program.  It is ultimately the responsibility of the student to complete the course.
  • No refunds will be given.

*In class students have a structured schedule which helps them stay on track…plus they study between classes.  You will want to set up a specific schedule for yourself so that you stay on track.  We highly recommend you do your plan right NOW!  We hope for your sake that your plan ranges from two to four weeks in length.  Best results happen when students get focused and stay focused over a short period of time.  Catch as catch can does NOT work well for positive results.  Be focused and disciplined.

The following steps are necessary for obtaining a real estate salesperson’s license in the state of Missouri.

  1. Complete the 48-hour salesperson pre-examination course (must be completed within 6 months of registering).
  2. Pass the state licensing AMP exam.
  3. Complete the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course.
  4. All applicants must provide acceptable proof of having submitted fingerprints the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s approved vendor for both a Missouri State Highway Patrol and a Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check. *
  5. Associate with a real estate broker that is licensed in the state of Missouri.
  6. Apply for a license.

*Effective January 1, 2011, all applicants are required to be fingerprinted prior to making application for licensure. You can make an appointment by contacting L1 Enrollment Services through the preferred method of registering online at www.L1enrollment.com or by calling 1-866-522-7067. You will need to provide L1 Enrollment Services with the ORI number of MO920130z in order to schedule an appointment. This will authorize the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the FBI to send the results to the Missouri Real Estate Commission. You will pay a fee of $52.50 directly to L1 Enrollment Services for this service. You must attach a receipt from L1 Enrollment Services substantiating proof of fingerprinting with your application for license.

Steps 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 must be completed within 6 months of completing the pre-examination course. Certain criminal convictions may prevent the student from receiving or retaining a real estate license.

*The rules do not require that students pass the state licensing exam before completing the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course, but we strongly recommend that students take the pre-examination course and pass the state licensing exam before taking the 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course.  The pre-examination course helps you pass the test.  The 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course provides information for the real world of real estate.

The state of Missouri uses Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) to administer their licensing exam.  Please click on the following link and review their student handbook now.
